He later published many books in parallel with the literary magazine Gardoun. But in 1373, Gardoun’s publishing license was revoked by the Ministry of Guidance. In 1995, Gardoun Magazine was revoked, and its director was sentenced to flogging, imprisonment, and a ban on writing, then left Iran in March 1995.
A year later, Abbas Maroufi resumed publishing Gardoun in Germany to publish the works of exiled authors, as well as works that are not allowed to be published in Iran. Since the spring of 2003, when the House of Guidance Art and Literature was established on Kant Berlin, Gardon Publishing and Gardon Printing House have been established there, and continue to prioritize the publication of fiction.
Gardoun Publishing has a significant role in introducing Iranian literature and culture by publishing more than 300 books.
