Steven Novella, MD, specializes in treating patients who suffer from headaches and a variety of neurological conditions. “We have very effective and successful treatments in treating general neurological issues, particularly in the area of migraines,” says Dr. Novella, an assistant professor of neurology at Yale School of Medicine.
Dr. Novella works with his colleagues using a comprehensive and academic approach to headache diagnosis and management. His clinical research targets migraines but he is also interested in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myasthenia gravis, neuropathy and erythromelalgia, formerly known as Mitchell’s disease, a rare neurovascular peripheral pain disorder in which blood vessels are episodically blocked.
He is the vice president for the Society for Science-Based Medicine and the editor of Science-Based Medicine, a website dedicated to exploring issues of science in medicine.
