Hamid Namjoo is a writer and literary critic. He is also the brother of Mohsen Namjoo, a singer and a musician. He was sentenced to prison for his family connection with Mohsen Namajoo, and his artistic activities, including writing a book.
Namjoo was arrested by security forces for his “artistic activities” in December 2018, and was released on bail after three weeks of interrogation at a security detention center located in Evin Prison.
He was charged in court with “propaganda against the Islamic Republic.”
