Masoud Banisadr, a cousin of former Iranian President Abolhassan Banisadr, joined Mujahedin while studying in Britain and served in its political wing for nearly 20 years. Finally leaving the group in 1996, he now writes about the dangers of cult ideology and the appeal of extremism.
